Certifying Legal Documents

Creating certified documents

We can certify certain documents for you at a minimal charge per document. This includes Wills, LPA's and related legal documents. Normally there is no need to use a solicitor or notary to do this for you.

You may need certified copies when the time comes and you have to send off a copy of the Will or LPA to whoever requests it. NEVER send the original. The death certificate is usually certified by the registrar at the time of registering the death.

Ideally you'll need 10 copies of the death certificate, 5 copies of the Will and the same for the LPA's. Sometimes you may not need them, but it's just worth bearing in mind when you start the administration of the Estate or looking after the Donor of an LPA that you may be asked for them.

You can just ask us when you need them to produce copies, even if we didn't create the documents. We need to have sight of the original, then we can copy them certify each page of each copy You'd be surprised to know how many Wills haven't been signed by the Testator when they come to ask for certified copies!

If you need certified copies just let us know and we'll be glad to produce them for you as long as we can see the original.
